On 28 August 2026, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Tingrai celebrated Raksha Bandhan with a deep sense of love, gratitude and universal brotherhood. A heartfelt Shraddhanjali was offered to Mananiya A. Balakrishnan Ji, remembering his inspiring life, selfless service and unwavering dedication to Seva and Samarpan. Namita Didi spoke about his life and contributions, followed by an address by the Respected Principal Didi, who paid tribute to his noble ideals and dedicated service. The spiritual atmosphere was enriched by the chanting of Vishnu Sahasranamam and recitation of the Bhagavad Gita by the students.
The celebration continued with a speech on the significance of Raksha Bandhan, a melodious song and the tying of Rakhis among students, symbolising love, unity and togetherness.
Extending the spirit of Raksha Bandhan beyond the Vidyalaya, groups of teachers and students visited various institutions across Tengakhat, Naharkatia, Duliajan and Bahadur Chariali, expressing heartfelt gratitude to those who serve society.
The places visited included:
- Public Health Centre – The students conveyed their appreciation to those dedicated to serving the community.
- CISF Unit, Duliajan – More than 60 CISF personnel received Rakhis from the students. A teacher spoke about the significance of Raksha Bandhan, followed by an inspiring address by the Commandant on Swami Vivekananda and his ideals. The interaction was deeply touching and memorable.
CRPF Battalion, Bahadur Chariali – Students tied Rakhis to the CRPF personnel, and the Commandant spoke about the significance of Raksha Bandhan, making the interaction meaningful and heartfelt.
- Assam Battalion Camp, Wilton – Students tied Rakhis to more than 30 personnel and had a warm and engaging interaction with them, making the visit a memorable experience.
- Tengakhat College – Rakhis were tied to the Principal and staff.
- Naharkatia College – Students tied Rakhis to the Principal and staff, sharing the spirit of brotherhood.
- Duliajan College – Rakhis were tied to the Principal and staff as a gesture of respect and gratitude.
- UCO Bank, Duliajan – Rakhis were tied to the manager and staff.
- Punjab National Bank, Tingrai Chariali – Students tied Rakhis to the manager and staff.
- Tengakhat Police Station – The students expressed their gratitude to the personnel who serve and protect society.
- Naharkatia Police Station – The visit reflected the spirit of respect and appreciation for their service.
- Tingrai Chariali Police Station – Students tied Rakhis and expressed their heartfelt gratitude.
The celebration became a beautiful expression of Seva, respect, gratitude and universal brotherhood, reflecting the timeless ideals of Vivekananda Kendra.
